Whisonant, 1984. The late Joe Whisonant was talking to his son John (later to be my son Joseph’s godfather). We both worked for Triangle Construction that summer and were indeed in good condition BEFORE August two-a-day football practices. Mr. Whisonant was right about that. I hope for the sake of the Lord that we are getting ourselves in good SPIRITUAL condition to make wise decisions on behalf of this congregation which has been here for 59 years and I pray will be here for many more decades to come. Work on all of the things that brought us to this point. Work on knowing who we are, who we belong to, and where we are going. Consider the enemy and his objectives. Work on the meaning of fellowship in Jesus Christ. So that, at the end of this summer we will be ready and in good condition to make good decisions for the sake of the Lord on behalf of our congregation.
