From the Stewardship Committee...

Thank You!

Dear Resurrection Family, on Sunday 09/06/09 the Stewardship Committee held "Catch Up" Sunday.  The Stewardship Committee asked the Congregation to double their tithes for this event.  It is an understatement to say that we were overwhelmed by your response.  Heading into this event the church was $11,000.00 dollars behind our budgeted needs.  After "Catch Up" Sunday we had cut our deficit to around $3,500.00 dollars.  Wow what a response!  These funds will be used to used to help reduce Resurrection's Budget Shortfall.  On behalf of the Stewardship Committee we would like to thank you for your contributions.  Please remember that although "Catch Up" Sunday was a success, Resurrection continues to experience a budget shortfall.  Any additional giving to this cause would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

The Stewardship Committee

Thank you so much!

I would like to thank Resurrection Lutheran Church for the party held in my honor on September 13th.  This was greatly appreciated by both Betty Anne and me.  Special thanks go to Dena Blalock for chairing the event, to Christie Herndon for the power point presentation, to Kimberla Burrows for the beautiful and delicious cakes, to Pastor Hobby for the vacation locale gift, to the congregation for the monetary gift, to Sandra Stirewalt for being Master of Ceremony, and to Barbara Tackett for her multitask contributions.  I have already personally thanked the Frank Love Orchestra for their surprise appearance and the performance.  It was an evening I shall never forget.

Lutheran Family Services  I just wanted to write a note to thank your congregation for providing Christmas for the children in my caseload.  Because of you there were some glad faces on Christmas morning.

                                              Laura Borders, Lutheran Family Services

Dear Resurrection Lutheran,

Thank you so much for the delicious lasagna, salad, bread and desserts! Everything was delicious and such a great help with all of our guests for the funeral.  We really felt the love and care you shared with us.        Blessings,

 From Kings Mountain, Crisis Ministry

Dear Resurrection Family.

Thank you for your generous donation to the Kings Mountain Crisis Ministry.  Many families are struggling financially and in need of utility assistance during the cold winter months.  Your gift will help us be here to assist these families.  We will let them know that it is churches in our area that love them enough to give.  Thank you again, and May God richly bless you.

Sincerely, Rebecca Lineberger, Director

 CAMPBELL SOUP BAR CODES

A special thanks to everyone who collected Campbell Soup bar codes.  This week Resurrection members  were able to send 85 bar codes, 19 value points and 35 Education tops to the Solheim Lutheran Home, Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission.  The bar codes are used to buy vans for the school and residents for transportation and the other items are used to purchase supplies for their school.  Let’s continue in 2009 to support this wonderful outreach mission.

 ALUMINUM CANS

Last year members of Resurrection collected aluminum cans which were worth over $250.00 to be sent to ELCA World Hunger.  Keep up the great work.

You are making a difference!
